Monday 5:15

A career is a great distraction, but from what? There’s nothing to gain from doing nothing. Besides, carpe diem! Which in capitalism translates to: capitalize on every moment! But professionally fulfilled or not, once in a while we will look up from our desk and feel suddenly struck with the utter absurdity of work. It is absurd, is it not, to attempt to make your time useful? There may be nothing to gain from doing nothing, but must we always gain? Before this line of thinking unravels into one of those dreaded career changes, let’s walk away from our desk, and engage, instead, in being. Being rather than producing. Being rather than having. Being rather than performing. We all need a brief affair with insubordination.
