Changemaker Evelynn Escobar hosted a wellness retreat at the Palm Springs’ Ace Hotel late this summer. The weekend saw an intimate gathering of women for two nights of engaging and meaningful conversations.

Founded in 2017, Hike Clerb is an intersectional women’s outdoors collective born as a radical solution to the lack of representation and participation of people of color in the outdoors. Escobar and the collective seek to equip Black and Indigenous women of color with the tools, education, resources, and experiences they need to collectively heal in nature from Los Angeles and beyond.
At the retreat, guests sipped Mellow Margaritas while engaging in self care and wellness.

A Mellow Margarita
The simple act of running a lime wedge around the outside rim of a glass and rolling the rim in salt can make all the festive difference to a drink, and, also, to your mood.
Ingredients
Aplós Calme
- Calme
1 oz.
Agave nectar
1 tsp
Lime juice
1/2 oz
Orange flower water
Splash
Instructions
Run a lime wedge around the outside of the rim of the glass then roll the rim in salt. Add all the ingredients with ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake & strain over fresh cubes of ice into a tumbler. With a peeler cut an orange twist. Garnish with a lime wheel and add your layer of desired heat!
